Save your hallway displays with a ZiPLoC Quilt

I saw this ziploc quilt at a workshop & fell in love. What a great way to display your student's work & keep it protected too. If your classroom is located in a high traffic hallway, you will definitely need one of these. They are super easy to make & VERY CHEAP!. You can also make it as large or as small as you want. All you need is gallon-sized ziploc bags & duct tape. I've seen duct tape in all colors & designs. My favorite has been polka dotted. These ziploc quilts will out last you too. I've had mine for 2 years. At the end of the school year, I fold it up & put it in my cabinet. Some ziploc bags have tags where you write the date on. My quilt has them (see 2nd pic above). Make sure they are all facing the same direction when you make your quilt. You don't want to see the tag when you place your student's work inside. What else can we use this ziploc quilt for? C'mon, "think outside the school box"

  4. okay, this is going to be tricky. I hope I can explain myself clearly

I made the quilt, 4 bags at a time

Step 1) I rolled out duct tape to the length of 4 bags. Sticky side of tape facing up. Then I placed the ziploc bags(all facing the same direction) about a 1/2 inch apart from eachother. Then I folded the top of the duct tape down ( make sure you don't tape over the opening)

Step 2) When you do the 2nd row, you will roll 2 pieces of duct tape the length of the 4 bags. Sandwich the ziploc bags between the 2 layers of tape (1 tape on the bottom & 1 on top). Again, make sure you don't tape over the opening & make sure the bags are all facing the same direction.

*repeat with as many rows needed.

To tape the sides follow step 1. Roll only 1 piece out the length of all the rows ( mine was 6) & fold the tape over.

    Hope this helps!

  6. What a great idea! Just to give you a heads up...I've had a lot of luck removing the white spots that allow you to write easily on the bags by rubbing nail polish remover or alcohol over it. I hope it works for you as well ;-)

  7. What an awesome idea! I'm a children's director in a church that uses a shared building space, so we have to take stuff down every week after church, but want to have pictures and art in the rooms....I'm going to the store right now to buy bags and tape to make this!!

  9. Our Church is having a Young People's Arts Festival and I was looking for ways to display the artwork submitted. This will work well since we really didn't want to damage the walls. Thanks!

  10. Hello! My name is Angela and I am from Brazil. Unfortunately, we still don't have the decorated duct tape, only silver tape which limits you to one color. Do you think I could do it with adhesive PVC/vinyl sheet? We do have those in here, with lovely patterns. Warm hugs from Brazil!
